How to Ship CGM Supplies Without a Printer

Quick answer: You don't need a printer. When you request your quote, choose "Send me a QR code to scan at the Post Office." Show the code on your phone at the counter and USPS prints and applies the prepaid label for you, at no charge. You never pay postage either way.

Why this option exists

Home printers have quietly become rare, and "print this label" is the step where a lot of people give up on selling supplies they've already decided to sell. Boxes end up sitting by the front door for weeks. So we added a second option that removes the printer from the process entirely.

The two label choices

Option What you do Best if
QR code Show the code on your phone at the Post Office counter; the clerk prints and applies the label No printer, or you'd rather not deal with tape and paper
Emailed PDF label Print it at home, tape it to the box, drop it anywhere You have a printer and want to skip the counter line

Step by step with the QR code

  1. Request your quote on the Sell Your Supplies page and select the QR code option when asked how to send your label.
  2. Check your email. The QR code arrives shortly after you submit. If you don't see it, look in spam — that's where it lands most often.
  3. Pack your box. Any sturdy box works. Keep everything in its original sealed packaging and add paper so boxes don't slide around.
  4. Take the sealed box and your phone to any Post Office. No appointment, no printing, nothing to bring but the box.
  5. Show the clerk the QR code. They scan it, print the label, stick it on, and take the package.
  6. Ask for a receipt. It confirms the acceptance scan and gives you the tracking number in hand.

What if you can't get to a Post Office?

Use the emailed PDF label instead and you have more options: hand the package to your mail carrier, leave it in any blue USPS collection box it fits in, or schedule a free package pickup at your home on USPS.com. If you don't have a printer, a library, a UPS Store, or a workplace printer will do it for a few cents.

Packing it properly

  • Use a sturdy cardboard box, not a poly mailer or padded envelope. Crushed boxes lose value at inspection.
  • Keep every item in its original sealed retail packaging.
  • Fill empty space with paper or bubble wrap so boxes don't shift.
  • Tape all seams. A box that opens in transit is a real risk.
  • Don't include anything you don't want to part with — packages aren't returned after processing.

Tracking, and why it may look stuck

Your tracking number comes with the label and in your confirmation email. One thing worth knowing: USPS Ground Advantage often doesn't scan at drop-off, so tracking can sit unchanged for a day or two before the first update appears. That's normal and doesn't mean your package is lost. Asking the clerk to scan it at the counter usually gets you a same-day acceptance scan.

Common questions

Do I need a printer to sell my CGM supplies?
No. Choose the QR code option and the Post Office prints your label at the counter for free. A printable PDF label is available if you'd rather do it at home.

How much does shipping cost?
Nothing. We pay for the prepaid USPS label and no fees come out of your payout. Your only cost is a box.

Where can I drop off the package?
Any Post Office, any blue USPS collection box it fits in, or hand it to your mail carrier. You can also schedule a free home pickup on USPS.com.
