Libre 3 vs Libre 3 Plus: Which FreeStyle Libre Sensors Can You Sell?

Quick answer: Only the Plus versions can be sold. A sealed FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus box pays $40 with at least 6 months left before it expires, and a sealed FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus box pays $20 with at least 7 months left. The original Libre 2 and Libre 3 (no "Plus" on the box) are not on our buy list.

What is the difference between Libre 3 and Libre 3 Plus?

They look almost identical, and that is the problem. Both are small, round, one-piece sensors that you wear on the back of your arm and read with your phone. The practical differences:

  • Wear time. The original Libre 3 is labeled for 14 days of wear. Libre 3 Plus is labeled for 15 days.
  • Where it is headed. Abbott has been moving U.S. users onto the Plus versions of both the Libre 2 and Libre 3, and the Plus sensors are the ones pharmacies are dispensing now.
  • Resale value. Because the Plus sensors are the current product, they are the ones with buyer demand. The older non-Plus boxes are not.

The same logic applies to Libre 2 vs Libre 2 Plus: the Plus version is the current 15-day sensor and the one we buy.

How to tell which one you have in five seconds

  1. Read the product name on the front of the box. A Plus box says FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus (or FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus). If the word "Plus" is not there, it is the original version.
  2. Check the wear time. The Plus boxes reference 15-day wear. The originals reference 14 days.
  3. Check the expiration date. It is printed on the side of the box next to the hourglass symbol. You need at least 6 months left for Libre 3 Plus and 7 months for Libre 2 Plus.

Not sure? Take a clear photo of the front and side of the box and email it to support@sellcgm.com. We will tell you before you ship anything.

What each FreeStyle Libre box is worth

Product Requirement We pay per box
FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus 6+ months until expiration $40
FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus 7+ months until expiration $20
FreeStyle Libre 3 (original) Not accepted —
FreeStyle Libre 2 (original) Not accepted —

Libre prices are flat: there is no sliding scale by date, as long as the box clears the minimum. That means a Libre 3 Plus box expiring in 7 months and one expiring in 14 months both pay $40. The minimum still matters, though. Once a box drops under 6 months, it can no longer be sold at all, so do not let a stack sit in a drawer.

A stack of Libre boxes adds up fast

Libre sensors often ship two or three months at a time. A 90-day supply of Libre 3 Plus is six boxes, which is $240. Add a seventh box and you clear $250, which qualifies a first-time seller for our $20 new-seller bonus.

What else has to be true

  • Factory sealed and unopened. No loose sensors outside the box.
  • Bought in the U.S.
  • Not funded by Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, or the VA. See why government-funded supplies can't be resold.
  • In mint condition. Boxes with dents or dings, writing, adhesive residue, crushed corners, torn or half-peeled labels, or water damage are not accepted.

Common questions

Can I sell the original FreeStyle Libre 3 sensors?
Not right now. We only buy the Plus versions, Libre 3 Plus and Libre 2 Plus. If your box does not say "Plus" on the front, we can't make an offer on it.

How much is a box of Libre 3 Plus sensors worth?
$40 per sealed box, as long as it has at least 6 months left before the expiration date.

Do you buy the Libre reader?
No. We buy sealed sensor boxes only.

Can I sell Libre and Dexcom supplies in the same shipment?
Yes. Add each product on the payout page, pack them in one box, and get one payment.

See your exact payout on the Libre 3 Plus payout page (or Libre 2 Plus). The label is free, and you are paid by Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle the same business day your boxes are verified. Questions? Text (910) 807-3468.
